44,997 SCOUTS FROM
OVER 180 COUNTRIES
3 FROM SOUTH CRAVEN
Between the 22nd of July and the 2nd of August 2019, 36 000 Scouts from across the globe will gather for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
Amongst this number are the 3 who will represent South Craven as members of the 32nd Unit of the U.K.'s 3 600-strong Contingent, the largest of any to be attending the event. We are those 3.
In order to attend, however, we must raise a sum total of £10,860 in funds, £3,620 for each one of us, rather a daunting prospect. Much of the fee in question is to cover the cost of Scouts in developing countries, or others closer to home, who would otherwise be unable to attend on financial grounds.
Contrarily, this is not the only reason for which this website exists. As South Craven's representatives at the Jamboree, we deem it our duty to bring attention to and raise awareness of Scouting as a whole: we believe that the opportunities that we have been afforded by way of our involvement with the Movement are there for everyone, provided they love the outdoors and share its boisterous sense of adventure.
Sadly, a number of Colonies, Packs, Troops and Units have recently found themselves with no choice but to disband, due to a lack of interest, or similar reason. We truly believe, however, that it is rather due to a lack of awareness. There is yet hope.

We aim to host a number of fundraising events over the coming months, as well as writing to local charitable organisations and businesses, rallying support.
If you would like to make a donation please do contact us, but otherwise we look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
