Please allow us to introduce you to the three jamboree representatives for South Craven.
From Beavers, right through to Explorers, Ben has always loved scouting. Whether with Scouts or his friends, there is nothing he enjoys more than exploring the great outdoors and sleeping under the stars (even though his parents would prefer he take a tent). He is often caught reading Trail magazine when he should be doing his homework!
He enjoys playing the oboe, including in school bands and Skipton’s Music Centre. He is also part of a local drama group that put on regular productions and is working through LAMDA exams. Twice a week you'll find him honing his Karate skills.
He has volunteered in a local charity shop and is now carving out an early career as an odd job (young) man in Skipton - let him know if you’ve anything you need doing!
Ben has, for as long as he can remember, remained an active member of the local branches of the Scout Movement. He prizes, above little else, the values of courtesy, usefulness and readiness - upon being "prepared" in the truest sense of the term.
Alongside Scouts, Ben likes to plan multi-day excursions into the hills with his friends. Their last expedition had them walking from Dent to Grasmere over multiple days with some rough camping.
Ben is not a fan of the sun but has been known to make the best of it as his photos shows.

"Hi, I'm Joseph. I enjoy climbing , scouting, water polo and playing guitar. I climb twice a week for Harrogate Climbing Academy and I am currently on NlCAS level 5. I play the bass and acoustic guitar and play in the school band for concerts.
I like scouting because I like being outdoors and I enjoy walking, camping and cooking. This is what inspired me to apply for the World Scout Jamboree."
